Upcover is an Australian insurtech startup that offers an online comparison platform for business insurance, serving small businesses, startups, freelancers, online businesses, and associations. Their products include professional indemnity insurance, public and products liability insurance, cyber privacy liability insurance, and COVID-19 bounceback insurance.

Upcover aims to transform the small business insurance sector by providing quick, jargon-free insurance solutions tailored to the needs of SMBs and sole traders, making it easier for them to access essential coverage.

The Objective:

  • Improve Organic users by 10x: We have to increase the number of visitors coming to our website from search engines by 10 times.
  • North Star Metric (Get More Keywords in the Top 5, 10 and 20): We aim to have more of our keywords show up in the top position.

Upcover is an insurance provider that helps small businesses and startups. However, it has a tough job standing out in a crowded market where big insurance companies and comparison websites dominate search results. This makes it hard for Upcover to reach the customers it wants.

On top of that, Upcover has been relying a lot on pay-per-click (PPC) advertising to get new customers. The company wants to depend less on paid ads and focus on growing through organic search instead. By improving its online presence and search engine rankings, Upcover hopes to connect better with potential clients and offer them the right insurance solutions.

The Solution:

We created a strong SEO plan to help Upcover improve its online visibility and attract more customers, aiming for a 10X growth in traffic. Here’s how we approached the challenge:

SEO Roadmap & Milestones Setup:

We have developed a detailed monthly SEO roadmap to achieve 10X organic traffic growth for the Upcover brand. In this roadmap we have clearly outlined specific timelines and a comprehensive list of activities to be performed each month, including backlink targets and blog strategies. It also includes a clear execution plan with milestones for each month, identifies key focus segments of the project, and resources to be deployed on project with their job roles along with project requisites, and mandatory things to do.

We improved Upcover's website by updating its content and structure. This included making new landing pages that focused on important keywords related to the different types of small businesses Upcover wants to reach.

Solved Index bloat 👍

We addressed the issue of pages being indexed but blocked by the robots.txt file by updating the file to allow access for valuable content. We ensured that any pages we wanted to keep out of search results included a 'noindex' tag while still being crawlable. This resolution improved Upcover's SEO performance by ensuring that important content was indexed correctly and accessible to search engines.

By following these steps and focusing on achieving 10X growth, we aimed to significantly boost Upcover’s organic traffic and connect better with potential customers.
